Where to arrive.

  • Chicago O’Hare International Airport is the main international airport serving the Chicagoland area. It is also the closest airport to the conference location at only 17 miles (27 km) away. O’Hare connects to both Chicago and Evanston via taxi, ride share, bus route 250, and the Blue Line of the metro (which is called the “L”).

  • Chicago Midway International Airport is a major commercial airport on the Southwest side of Chicago. It is further from the conference location than O’Hare at 26 miles (42 km) away. Midway connects to both Chicago and Evanston via taxi, ride share, and the Orange Line of the metro (which is called the “L”).

  • For those who wish to travel by train from within the United States, Chicago’s main train station is Union Station. It is the closest arrival option to the conference location at only 15 miles (24 km) away. Union Station is located in the downtown neighborhood of West Loop in Chicago and connects to Evanston via taxi, ride share, the Purple Line of the metro (which is called the “L”), and the Union Pacific North line of the Metra commuter rail system.

  • GoClimate is a Swedish social company fighting climate change by reducing greenhouse gas emissions. They calculate your emissions, support you in reducing them, and offer a subscription service for contributing to certified climate projects.

  • myclimate is an international climate protection organization with Swiss roots. It has developed and supported 197 climate protection projects in 45 countries around the world since its foundation in 2002.

  • Native is an American Public Benefit Corporation founded in 2002 to develop solutions to sustainability challenges and reduce greenhouse emissions.

  • Sustainable Travel International is an organization committed to working with governments, companies, NGOs, and communities to support and help achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals. They distribute every dollar contributed across a mixed portfolio of forestry, energy, and blue carbon projects.

  • Terrapass is an American organization launched in 2004 to help everyday people reduce the climate impact of their driving. Since then, the organization has expanded its focus to address greenhouse gas emissions from other important sectors, such as flying and energy consumption.
